On June 26 every year, the world marks St Josemaría Escrivá Day by commemorating the message of “the saint of ordinary life”, as Pope St. John Paul II called St. Josemaría.
Since 2022, Lakeside hosts annual activities to promote St. Josemaría Escriva’s message of the universal Christian vocation to holiness as it relates to current topics of ordinary life.
Through Holy Masses, symposiums, exhibitions, cocktails, games, and quiz shows, Lakesiders can delve deeper into the teachings of the saint.
The activities to mark this year's celebration starts with a Holy Mass in honor of St. Josemaría on July 1 at Whitesands School Lekki. Forty-five students from Lakeside would be present at the celebration. The Mass is a great opportunity to invite friends, and family to get to know the spirit and life of St. Josemaria Escriva.
A symposium and cocktail would take place at Lakeside Study Centre in the afternoon. The symposium with the theme - St. Josemaría's Guide to Surviving as a True Christian in Today’s World, would feature a panel discussion moderated by Collins Odoh (Esq.) and with panelists in the persons of Raphael Odetola, Emmanuel Ajegbo, Joshua Uzoma, Ebuka Okoli.
